Preserve Historic Forsyth's 2015 Annual Meeting

  • 16 May 2015
  • 2:00 PM
  • Historic Körner’s Folly, 413 S Main St, Kernersville

Come see preservation in action at Historic Körner’s Folly, which will host PHF for its 2015 Annual Meeting on May 1.

The Körner’s Folly Foundation has been working diligently on the restoration of the 135-year-old Victorian-style house, completed in 1880 by interior and furniture designer, decorator, and painter Jule Gilmer Körner. With the exterior phase recently completed, work has now begun on the inside. David Black of HagerSmith Design will provide insight into the restoration process in his presentation “If These Walls Could Talk,” which will highlight the painstaking process of finish and paint analysis and explain how decisions on finish and colors were made. Guests will be able to see the two rooms currently being restored, one of which is near completion, as well as the Reception Room, which will be restored once funds have been raised.

Refreshments will be served after the presentation.

The event begins at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public, though anyone who wants to take a full tour of Körner’s Folly, including the rest of the house and the outbuildings, will need to purchase a ticket that day. The house is open on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children.
